During the initial consultation we get to know one another. We talk with you in your home or office for up to an hour to get a better understanding of what your needs are. If both parties approve, we enter into a letter of agreement. This document defines the scope of work and the role and responsibilities of the designer.
This analysis allows us to create a program for your needs, which we will present to you for approval before proceeding. Utilizing this program, we can begin to work out the design concepts. We'll prepare a visual presentation, in loose format, including floor plans, color schemes, sketches and preliminary selections.
Based on your feedback for this presentation, we begin to modify and develop the concept. We prepare plans, elevations, color/ finish/fabric/material formats and furniture selections in greater detail. We refine other sketches, drawings or materials to communicate specific design solutions. We will also prepare budget and estimates for when the work will be done.
Once you have approved our design concept and we have determined an overall budget we will move into the final design phase. Reviewal of complete finalized plans, schedules, furniture, lighting, finish and fabric selections and all other specifications necessary to implement the project. Should working drawings be required for interior construction and/or millwork we will provide them as part of this phase. At this time, we will also submit more extensive budgets for your approval.
